Asylum dirt carries the symbolism of mental unrest, confusion, instability, confinement, obsession, and distorted perception. Traditionally suited to more forceful or adversarial spiritual work, it may be incorporated into workings intended to confuse, unsettle, disorient, create mental turmoil, or keep someone trapped within their own thoughts and behavior.

Because of the intense symbolism attached to places historically associated with institutionalization and psychological suffering, Asylum Dirt is considered a specialized materia and should be worked intentionally and according to the practitioner’s tradition and spiritual guidance.
