Obatala is the king of the white cloth, a symbol of peace and purity. He is also the father of mankind & the messenger of Olofi.

Obatala Ayaguna is the youngest path of Obatala. Ayaguna personifies the warrior spirit. The patakis or stories of the faith state that Olofin put Ayagunna in charge of bringing order to the earth since man had been left to his own devices. At first, Ayaguna asked the people to bring their lives in line with the laws of Olofi, but they ignored his requests. After a while, Ayaguna grew less and less patient and finally stopped making requests and took more punitive measures by executing those who refused to obey. 

Obatala Ayaguna symbolizes protection of his people and the fight against injustice. His revolutionary and quarrelsome nature underscores the need for transformation and change.
