Orisha Oko is a strong hunter and farming deity, a fighter against sorcery, and a master at settling disputes between orishas. Planting seeds and aiding in growth, Orisha Oko is also a wonder teacher, tending to his students as a farmer tends to his crop. Among the deities, he was considered a close friend of Oosa, Ogiyan and Shango, as well as a one-time husband of Oya and Yemoja. Bees are considered the messengers of Oko.
