Oya, Oya Yansa | Our Lady of Candelaria, St. Brigid collares elekes

Oyá is the ruler of the winds, violent storms, and the gates of the cemetery. Her number is nine which recalls her title of Yansa or "Mother of Nine" in which she rules over the egun or dead.

As a river deity, she is also regarded as a deity of children and said to have the ability to provide children to her devotees or those who come to her banks at the Niger river.
